Confused About Pinterest?

“Friend.” “Follow.” Here’s a new one to add to the list of social media verbs, if you haven’t already: “pin.”

Pinterest is the social network foodies can’t seem to get enough of, and if you have outstanding photos of your dishes burnging a hole in your pocket, you might want to pin them.

Ellen Malloy at Chicago’s Restaurant Intelligence Agency put together a chef primer on how to use Pinterest. (And once you’re on, you might want to follow Plate!)

Once you’re pinning away, why not share pictures of specials or recipes? For instance, the James Beard Foundation’s pins (pictured above) show off the culinary wizardry that goes on in their kitchen. Saveur recently had a contest asking readers to create a whole menu. The possibilties are endless.
